So far I have figured out how to play 10 notes and i am starting to be able to read and process sheet music. I cant process it as fast as i like so i am just going to have to test myself on paper to be able to read sheet music a lot faster. Some set backs i have had this week is not having the time to practice, and loosing motivation to play. I’m going to start doing math homework at school so i can have a little more time to practice at home, i also have to get out of the mindset that this is for a school project because when i start thinking like that i loose all motivation to practice.
I have learned that I need a lot more air than I thought I would and it is actually very hard to hold the instrument while playing. While playing I don’t know exactly when to breath so I cant sustain the notes like they should be. While reading sheet music I get confused as when to breath and when to play. When I try and breath it sounds very choppy and in order to fix that I need to ask someone to find out when to breath and when to play. Since learning notes I have found that while playing C, it is very hard to hold the instrument when playing. I have learned how to hold and play, now I need to practice going from C to other notes without resting my the instrument against my chin.
I have learned that i am a type I person based on the fact that I would rather learn this instrument for pleasure instead of a grade, and since this is a grade I have been slacking off a lot during this project. I have also learned that i really enjoy playing instruments and I wish I had truly learned an instrument when I was younger so i could be able to play multiple instruments. I have found that playing and listening to the music that these instruments create make me happy.
For the next week I am striving to memorize the 10 notes i have learned. I also want to learn a scale and learn to properly play “Twinkle Twinkle little star.”
